COMPETITION
Welcome to the Athletes In Motion Cheer / Pom Tournament! For most of you this will be your first Cheer / Pom Tournament. We want this to be a good learning experience, and fun for all! Every competitor is a winner!
Awards will be presented to the top 3 winners in each division: all others will receive a Competition Ribbon. After you have finished competing in your last event, remove your badge with your contestant number and turn it into the “Awards table” for your Participation Trophy.
EVENTS
BEST CHEER COMPETITON: This competition is designed to show the judges how well the students can perform a cheer of their choice. Two cheers are taught to all the students during classes and the students should pick one of them to perform. Students will be judged on: volume, smile, eye contact, confidence and motion placement.
BEST CHANT COMPETITION: This competition is designed to show the judges how well the students can perform chant of their choice. Five chants are taught to all the students during classes and the students should pick one of them to perform. Students will be judges on: volume, smile, eye contact and confidence.
BEST DANCE: This competition is designed to show the judges how well the students can perform a dance of their choice. Students must choose only one dance to perform completely. Students will be judged on: accuracy, enthusiasm, flow of dance, confidence and overall performance.
BEST PRECISION SEQUENCE: This competition is designed to show judges and audience how well the students can perform basic cheerleading motion. The precision sequence consists of eight (8) moves done in a set order. Students will be judged on: placement, accuracy, smile and confidence. Techniques in the sequence:

THE ATHLETES IN MOTION TOURNAMENT
Q. When & Where is the Tournament?
A. Saturday,March 20th at the Caledonia H.S
Auxiliary Gym - 9757 Duncan Lake Road, Caledonia
Q. How do I get there?
A. Take M-37 to Caledonia, West on Main Street,
LH on School Road,
Turn R.H. on Johnson, Caledonia High is on L.H. Side.
Park in lot West of H.S. Gym.
Q. My Child is just a beginner...should they
participate in the Tournament?
A. Absolutely! Most of the competitors are beginning students.
This is an experience all students should have...especially beginners!
Q. How do I register?
A. You can pre-register* and save time the day of the tournament by mailing the registration form to:
-A.I.M. 10310 East Rivershore Drive, Alto, MI 49302 by March 22nd or......
-Register the day of the Tournament by arriving early: registration 9:00 until 9:30 am
Q. What time does it start and end?
A. Competitors should arrive no latter than 9:15 a.m. Will complete all four events by 1:00 p.m.
Q. Is there an admission charge for spectators?
A. Admission is $2.00 5yr and under are FREE
Q.Who will the students compete against?
A. This tournament is exclusively for Athletes in Motion students!. Students will only compete against students from their own age group.
Q. What are the divisions? (divisions my be combined as needed for competition)
A.Divisions: Group I ages 5 & 6, Group II ages 7 & 8, Group III ages 9-12
Q. Does everyone receive a trophy?
A. Yes all contestants receive a ‘Participation Trophy’ which stand approximately 8”
tall on a marble base with a gold Cheer / Pom -figure on the top. Plus division finalists receive:
-1st place 25” tall marble trophy (12 1st place trophies will be awarded !)
-2nd place 18” tall marble trophy
-3rd place 12” tall marble trophy
Q. What equipment is required?
A. You only need to bring your Poms. Dress in your Athletes In Motion Cheer T-Shirt and shorts or skirt.

Q. Is there a competition for the Athletes In Motion Self -Defense students?
A. Yes, the self-defense tournament for the Athletes in Motion students will run at the same time in the Caledonia High School- Main gym. Check it out....your paid admission is good for both gyms.
