AIM USA Self Defense Instructor Team for 2010

Mrs. Rachel  Ostrowski- 2nd degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA Instructor.  Mrs. Rachel is the Head Instructor for AIM USA with over twenty years experience teaching the martial arts and has been with AIM USA since 1997. She also leads the AIM USA Sparring Clinic and the AIM USA Summer Mini-camps.  Mrs. Rachel is a mother of two and also works for Kohl's Department Stores.  Mrs. Rachel instructs at the Rockford, Kentwood and Forest Hillslocations.





Ms Shana Broxup - 1st degree Black Belt in Chunjido with additional training in Shotokan, Tae kwon do, and the bo staff.  Ms. Shana brings over 7 years of self-defense experience with a special emphasis on women's self defense.   Ms. Shana holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Evansville and an Associate Degree from Baker College in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.  She is a licensed ultrasound technologist and lives with her husband in Kentwood.  Ms Shana instructs at the Muskegon Mona Shores location as well as assisting the other AIM USA Instructors as needed.




Mr. LaTravis Hart 1st degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA instructor. Mr. LaTravis holds  Black Belts in several styles including;  Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Ryuku Kenpo and Okinawan Kenpo.  He brings with him several years of martial arts teaching experience. LaTravis has recently graduated from GVSU with a degree in Biomedical Health Science and Psychology and hopes to attend MSU Medical School at the Grand Rapids Campus in the fall of 2010. He will be instructing the AIM USA Self Defense classes at the Grandville and Byron Center locations.



Mr. Shane Johnson   - 1st degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA Instructor.  Mr. Shane brings over fifteen  years of self defense experience plus over  ten years of teaching self defense to youth.  Mr Shane is a constructon supervisor and is currently working as the AIM USA substitute instructor and will be a judge at the AIM USA competitions








Mr. Gordon Lanting- 4th degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA instructor.  Mr. Gordon has spent over 27 years in the martial arts beginning in 1981 and he has over15 years in self-defense and martial arts instruction.  Mr. Gordon is an Electronics Design Engineer and is president of Driven Designs, Inc.  You will see Mr. Gordon at our AIM USA competitions.  He is one of our most experienced competition judges an he will be instructing our AIM USA Self Defense classes at the Greenville location in the near future.




Mr. Matthew Miller - 1st degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA instructor.  Mr. Mathew received his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2004.  He has over 5 years experience instructing self-defense and martial arts.  Mr. Matthew holds a B.A from Albion College in Biology and is currently pursuing his graduate degree at The Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.  Mr. Matthew will be instructing at our AIM USA Self Defense classes in Northview in addition to helping out the other AIM instructors as needed.







Mr. ERIK WINGER-  1st degree Black Belt & Certified AIM USA instructor. Mr. Erik brings with him several years of martial arts teaching experience. Most recently he was an instructor at Champion Youth Martial Arts.  Mr. Erik works as a Process Engineer and will be instructing our AIM USA Self Defense classes at the Sparta location.
